Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programme

A number of post doctoral bursaries are available to suitable candidates for carrying out research at Wessex Institute. The bursaries are for an initial period of one year, with possible extension.

The Fellow will work in the pleasant surroundings of the Institute’s Campus in the New Forest National Park where accommodation is also available if required.

The Fellowship comprises a series of topics as described below. Other topics will also be considered if deemed to be of importance to the Institute.

  • Rapid Manufacturing
  • Water Supply and Distribution
  • AC and DC Cathodic Protection Systems
  • Solution of Large Systems of Equations
  • Fracture Mechanics Simulations

The Institute’s work focuses on the development of advanced computational methods in engineering. WIT is known as a pioneer in the development of boundary element methods. All projects are closely linked with work carried out at other University research centres or laboratories and industrial partners.
