The dual porosity formulation is used to predict flow and transport through fractured porous media. The results obtained using the dual porosity formulation are compared to the ones obtained using the continuum and the discrete fracture/non-homogeneous formulations. The formulation is applied to risk analysis of hazardous waste in abandoned mines as well as multiphase flow in fractured porous media.
