Sponsored by the EC Framework VI, Food Quality and Safety Development and employment of validated methods for the screening and testing of Pharmaceutical Products (PPs) and their metabolites, to identify potential endocrine disruptors, determine their adverse effects, origin, fate, and mechanism of action and to assess their risk on men and women fecundity in various geographical locations and exposure scenarios in Europe. WIT will mainly be involved with risk assessment for PPs in food and correlation analysis between exposure to endocrine-active chemicals in food and other sources and markers of fecundity in the study populations. WIT is the leader of the Work Package: Risk assessment of pharmaceutical products in food based on regional, socio-economic and gender factors.
