 "Quantifying Sustainability in Architecture"

This special session will address quantification in designing and assessing the sustainability of architecture.

The need for quantifiable data related to sustainability is necessary in order to make effective decisions regarding future resource use. Data is also necessary to convince decision makers of the need for policy changes. In addition, as sustainable practices, including green building, continue to progress in different sectors of the world economy, it is necessary to find an effective balance. This session will focus upon quantification methods for sustainability and their application to develop a balance between social, economic and environmental factors.
