Constructal Law seminarOrganised by Prof Adrian Bejan, Duke University, USAConstructal theory is the view that the generation of configuration (pattern, design) is a universal physics phenomenon, and that this phenomenon is covered by the constructal law: "For a finite-size flow system to persist in time (to live) it must evolve such that it provides easier and easier access to its currents". The constructal law covers design evolution phenomena across the board, from geophysics and biology, to social dynamics and engineering. This seminar will review the progress made with the Constructal Law. Participants are encouraged to contribute papers on fundamentals and applications in diverse fields such as
The papers presented in the Constructal Law seminar will be processed for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Design & Nature and Ecodynamics. Professor Bejan's Constructal Law has recently been a topic of discussion in a number of prominent news sites and journals including: The Guardian - "The bigger they get, the faster they go" |
